National natural area Kukle is located near the village Boleradice. The altitude is 400 m. I arrived to Boleradice around 5.30h. Forest was very quiet. I had to walk 500 meteres to reach my spot. After 30 minutes I was on my spot in Kukle. I wanted to capture dawn chorus from the very first beginning. I had ten minutes for preparing of my recording rig. (photographer: Soňa Sommerová)

On the meadow I placed two pairs of stereo microphones. I have tried to capture a sense o place. 

The meadow along the Kukle has a peaceful and slightly mysterious atmosphere. During my recording, the landscape changed several times. At first a bright dawn was illuminated by darkness, and then a dense white fog drove over the meadow. Installed microphones and meadow birds disappeared in a dense white veil.

For capturing and zooming birds songs I used parabolic recording. Inside of the parabola is installed microphone Sennheiser MKH 8020.
